Services:  We are a comprehensive child development program for pregnant women and families with children from birth to age three.  Our program is primarily for families whose income is at or below the Department of Health and Human Services poverty guidelines.  Early Head Start integrates child development, education and health services.  Family and community partnerships bring a broad range of services, which address the needs of each child and their family.  We provide center based services at two locations in our county, Wellsville and Friendship.  Children and/or parents attend our centers 4 days per week, mid-September through mid-June.  During July and August, families receive weekly home visits and bimonthly socialization activities.  There is also a year-round home based option for families who do not live within our transportation route.  When children turn three years of age, we continue to offer services to children and families in our Head Start preschool program options.  For more information please contact us at either the Wellsville or Friendship center

Services:  The Early Intervention Program is a NYS Health Department program under the Federal Law IDEA.  The County Health

Department administers it locally.  It is a free program for parents of children birth to 2 years of age with either a diagnosed disability or

confirmed developmental delay.  If eligible, the child will receive free therapy in the area of the delay.  This program hopes to catch the

delay and address the child’s needs prior to school age.  The other component of this program is the Child Find component.  This

component monitors children at risk for developmental delay due to several at risk factors.  This component is also free and is a collaborative

effort between this office and the local primary physicians
